This is a full-time course of study and can only be entered via application and interview.

 

LEVEL& NAME : SACE STAGE 1 & 2 SAASTA


COURSE LENGTH: 2 years to complete both Stage 1 and Stage 2 SACE, however, students can exit after one year.


ASSUMED KNOWLEDGE: Interest in sport desirable.


FUTURE STUDY: PWAC SACE Courses, TAFE, UniSA-PAL

 OVERVIEW

This specialised course has a focus on practical activities and provides students with the opportunity to complete TAFE accredited modules. Students will also participate in specialised coaching/officiating clinics and be involved in the Power Cup activities combining with Stage 1 or Stage 2 subjects.  Some subjects may include camps and overnight trips.

Students may also participate in work related activities taking their skills and qualifications into the local community.  All teaching staff foster personal growth and individualised learning plans.

The SAASTA program has proven to be a popular and successful school based learning package with young indigenous men and women. The program is full time and caters for flexible entry.

  • Develop team building skills
  • Develop work related skills
  • Improve communication skills
  • Develop literacy and numeracy skills
  • Gain accreditation in umpiring and coaching
  • Gain understanding of a variety of sports

Students will undertake

  • SACE Stage 1 in the first 12 months of continual enrolment with the option to complete SACE Stage 2 the next year
  • SACE Stage 2

 ASSESSMENT

Assessment will be made up of the following

  • Appropriate SACE Stage 1 or Stage 2 assessment tasks.
