Welcome to the Para West Adult Campus website.

Para West Adult Campus is a senior secondary school for adults. Students who attend our school are over 16 years of age and have been out of formal schooling for at least six months. We pride ourselves on our capacity to expand the horizons of our students by providing them with opportunities to develop their skills, knowledge and dispositions through attainment of entry level qualifications.

Para West has delivered quality curriculum to adults in Adelaide's north since 1989. Students who have re-started their learning journey with us have gone on to make substantial contributions through work, university and TAFE study, and volunteering.

We provide a broad and accredited senior secondary curriculum so that adults returning to learning are able to access a range of subjects at the right level for them. We have developed a learning support program providing intensive literacy and numeracy assistance, an onsite Childcare Centre and the 'Faculty of Family Learning' delivering programs and courses for young parents and families. Programs also include the South Australian Aboriginal Sports Training Academy, which engages students through the delivery of Certificate II in 'Sport & Recreation' and the UniSA 'Preparation for Adult Learners' (PAL) program for students who wish to gain grounding in the demands of university studies.

We deliver over 100 subjects each semester, ranging from:

SACE Stage 1 and Stage 2
University Bridging courses
Industry Accredited Vocational programs.

We support your learning with the following:

comprehensive library facilities
social events and lunch time activities.

The friendly and caring teaching and support staff at Para West are here to help you achieve your academic and personal goals. We have enrolment counsellors who are happy to discuss subject choices with you, and to assist you in planning a program that will best meet your needs and goals.

At Para West Adult Campus, we strongly encourage students to participate in decisions that will improve campus life. The Student Association contributes to policy developments and has representatives on most school committees. All new students are encouraged to get involved. All ideas are valued and students are encouraged to forward their thoughts and ideas to their representatives.
